A Tribute to Dee from Richard and Sheena Marsh

Sheena and I remember Dee as a kind and caring person, much loved by her family and friends. She was always willing to give advice or help to anyone who needed it. A strong personality, and she had firm views and opinions on various matters.
Dee, was always very thoughtful of others, and enjoyed socialising with family and friends. She particularly enjoyed going on both sea and river cruises and loved stopping off at the various ports, the meeting of people and of course the evening meals where she often managed to get a seat on the captain’s table.
Dee, was also a fun-loving person with a good sense of humour. She was also an extremely good organiser, as was proved when, she conspiratorially organised a party with Arthur and my regular fellow commuters on the 1748 train from Paddington to Newbury on the eve of my wedding day. She managed to get a compartment reserved and decorated out with “Getting Married” banners affixed to the windows and also balloons and streamers, and “Yes”, even a bottle of Champagne to help the celebrations on the way home. Then on arrival at Newbury, there was Dee with a group of friends to sing “He’s getting married in the morning” when I stepped of the train, and too much amusement from fellow travellers.
Dee was indeed quite a lady, who will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her or being a friend.
